Chamomile is long being used in European countries for the treatment of many ailments. The benefits of chamomile tea include treatment for colds, insomnia, and upset stomach. The infusion of chamomile tea serves as a tonic for several purposes and is an effective remedy for hysteria and nervous affliction especially in women. Chamomile herbal tea also promotes menstrual flow and is also used for premenstrual symptoms.
Use of chamomile tea during pregnancy is not recommended.
Growing chamomile plant is not that a difficult task just that it requires little care and concentration. For growing chamomile one should buy green healthy plant that shows no sign of or near to withering away. The plant may be without flowers but should have plenty of healthy leaves on it. To grow it, choose a site where there is ample sunlight and well-drained soil. To grow chamomile one must keep in mind certain important instructions. One should plant the seedlings in spring or mid fall. The distance between each seedling must be approximately 6 inches for a carpet like ground and 18 inches in case of herb and flower gardens. The soil must be evenly moist during the growth of chamomile and time to time trimming must be ensured. The plant must be fertilized every four to six weeks. Chamomile grows well in summers in temperatures below 100 degrees F.
